Kitchen Tap lever loose

I would appreciate any advice on how to reattach the lever on the Kitchen tap (see pictures). There is no grub screw hole on the level and the end does not unscrew so I am at a loss as to how to reattach it.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Looks like it may push on, or via the end cap if there is one. Can you photo the other handle? I take it you didn’t remove it?

Hi Chris - I tried to push it on but with no success. The other tap leaver seems to have a stop that prevents it from coming off. The lever that has come off does not have an end cap that screws off.

Does look like there’s a cap as indicated on the attached photo, possibly just flicks out using a utility knife or something?

Those six white plastic pieces have all the hallmarks of a push on / pull off handle.
Then one day you pull it off and all the teeth go ping and fly around the room.

There is no option to flip open the end cap I'm afraid. I can hear there is something loose inside the serrated side of the lever so it may be that this can screw off but there is not much to grip with pliers as you can see from the pic below so is there a special tool that allows you to unscrew this? I am just wary about breaking off any of the serrated edges.

There's a thread in the tap body that I don't see an obvious reason for, be good to see how the other tap is attached if pos.

It's not ideal but it might have to do IF it's broken. May take a few gos to get it right but tightly wrap some tape around the spline so you can inteference fit the tap lever.

If the central splined part with its surrounding six nylon teeth are captive in the head, there must be something holding that in place.
Many taps like that with the 'pokey-out-handle' are designed so the rod handle unscrews, which lets you get inside the head. The problem is usually getting enough grip to unscrew it without marking the chrome. Rubber gloves good for this I gather.
Might be worth a try!

Ones like this can be just push fit- the white plastic bits move in as pushed on and then spring back into place with the lugs locating in a recess/channel formed in the other part.
They can be push/click fit into both halves (ie handle and tap body) - so no “fixings” as such.
All is great until it isn’t and the plastic goes brittle and the teeth/lugs snap off.
