Hi all. I have the above boiler that has developed the LF fault. My gas guy has replaced 2 electrodes but still no joy. He is coming back tmw and said it could be the spark generator or the gas valve or the pcb. I have no problem in replacing the dodgy part but I don't want to keep forking out until the whole of the inside of the boiler is brand new !!!
Any of you clever people got any ideas ?

Darren

Decent answer is replace the boiler, the ideal icos boilers are as good as a chocolate teapot

sorry for for the bad news.

Darren , I may be guessing here mate, but I think paul and plenty more of us may think you might be having a go yourself, nobody will give any advise on repairing your boiler. It's against the rules. Sorry.

Please read the red banner regarding gas mate. as jon said we are sorry but the rules are there for a reason.

(anyone know the number for the lodge) lol

Thx all - I don't mess with gas and never will but I do understand why people have concerns. A google search has come up with these boilers are useless so I guess it's gonna get expensive.
I'll report back tmw
cheers

I will. Surely a forum is to ask questions and hopefully get some decent replies !

The forum is for asking questions, and in this instance the response is that gas advice will not be given to non gsr people. It is illegal to work on gas unless you are gsr.

You have had plenty of decent replies.

We can't give you any advise regarding the repair of your boiler, however for the fault you are describing, there are checks to see if the items you mentioned above are working.
He is right that it could be any of those parts, but you can narrow it down
If your gas guy is just guessing and replacing items, I would get another guy in.

Darren , the lads on here will laugh at what I am about to say, get ready, I think icos's are ok, I look after a few and as long as they are serviced they are ok, miles better than any baxi. I am probably going to be banned now.
Isars, well, ok not so good.
