Been off the tools for 12 years but still have the basics, need some advice please I now work as a maintenance man in a hotel. There was a lack of hot water to a guests shower 8:30 am the cylinder supplies 10 rooms and a busy kitchen. The boss said turn up the stat his theory is the hotter the water the further it goes,Stat was set at 60c turned up to 80c. hope this makes sense. the cylinder looks like a unvented with the TP on the top.
see photo of said cylinder
and can someone please explain the TP please and I can not find a name or make of cylinder. Thank you.

Has it had its yearly service. Might pay to have someone look at it.
Unless you have thermostatic mixing valves on all outlets all you will do is burn someone. (By turning it up)

I dont think it has been serviced since it was installed, I'm I right in thinking this cylinder is unvented. If so there is no pre cylinder controls

It's a"nabic" valve. If that's been turned up to 80 degrees, don't go near the outlet!! Turn it back down and find how it is being heated and there will be your problem with lack of hot water.

Turn that stat down ASAP! I'd Condemn that straight off until that discharge was going somewhere proper and all the safeties are checked. Pictures aren't the best but that looks like a disaster waiting to happen!! (Had my unvented 7yrs)

turning the stat up is not a solution to the problem, any single hot taps (often found in kitchens) will now be pumping out 80 degree water. It will scald skin in seconds. Could get even hotter than 80 if the stat is an old one. Get an unvented qualified plumber in (G3) ASAP

Just an update.bottom is cold feed next is pumped to boiler next from boiler Next2 go in to hotel one of goes to hot tap in boiler room!

I agree with everyone , and i hope the corrosions just on the outer shell, why on earth would you want to bump that corroded bomb up to 80deg, you can set the coil pipes to 80 if desp but keep cylinder stat at 60-65, theres no need to go any higher, it is a real shabby install and if hotel is a public facility then by law should have regular safety checks by qaulified engineers,

tbf twizz hotels/leisure centers/any privatly owned profit margin money grabbing organization wont take any notice unless you turn it all off..Dont take "we need to keep it running".Its your head on the block bud..not your bosses.......

There is no programmer just an on off time clock,3 pumps,3 room stats and only 1 connected,1 cylinder stat and the boiler well!!
