Hi folks,
I have the Grohe Grohtherm Auto 1000 fitted with the Grohe Freehander double shower heads. If the shower head is slowly leaking, does it mean I have to replace the cartridge on the mixer? I'm finding it difficult to locate the right cartridge to purchase.
I'm thinking it be best to replace the whole mixer itself for another Grohe one.
Cheers

1. Most mixer showers, and I'm fairly sure your is one of these, have a single valve which controls the flow of pre-mixed hot and cold to the shower head(s).
2. If this control valve is working correctly, then no matter what the setting of the thermostatic valve, no water will flow to the head(s).
3. On this basis I would suspect that it is not the thermostatic cartridge that you need, but the control valve.
4. Have a look at Grohe Grohtherm Auto 1000 shower spares and parts | Grohe 34328000 | National Shower Spares - https://www.showerspares.com/grohe_shower_spares/grohe_all/grohe_grohtherm_1000_34328_000_34328_000/ and particularly parts 10 and 11.
5. I do not know whether you need any special tools to remove and refit the control valve. Doesn't look like it. Item 14 in the above reference is for the seat of the thermostatic cartridge and looks like a very expensive piece of hexagonal brass.

For some reason I cannot post links, but the one I have is model number "Grohe Grohtherm Auto 1000 bar mixer shower (34624000) Shower Spares"
And the part I think I need is this one; Grohe ceramic head part/flow cartridge (45346000)
Both found in showerspares
Am I right?
