Hi all can someone help me out. How exactly do I check the resistance on the solenoids of the gas valve I can't get my multimeter anywhere near the connections

You can test it pcb end

Worcester used to do a test card for this purpose (pub end testing)

If the solenoids are at the back it’s probably the old style valve!

It's a greenstar 24i junior. Yeah solenoids are at the back. I'm not getting any gas to the burner, just tries to ignite several times then locks out. Could it be anything else. Spark electrides and flame sensor seem ok.

I have deleted my last post as I clearly didn’t read the title. The gas valve wires go to st9 on the board

I'm gonna order a new valve now anyway. Will give it a go. If it's not I'll have a gas valve for sale if anyone wants it haha.

Test it at the pcb before you got it make.

I’d connect up my u-gauge to the gas inlet, if the pressure doesn’t drop on ignition (when power applied to gas valve) then it’ll be the valve!

Sometimes you’ll see cracks on the solenoids, this can be a sign it’s given up! You’ll need a torch & flexi mirror...

I did that, no change in pressure while it was trying to ignite. Will update when done ( or not)

Changed valve problem solved. You were spot on, cracks on both solenoids
