Hi, Got a job to do installing a combi boiler, Gas supply pipe is in a cupboard in the kitchen which has been capped off just wondering if there is a reconnection fee and is it the customers job to arrange to get a meter installed
What is the usual process?
All the other jobs ive done have had a meter installed already

Many Thanks

Is the ecv capped off ? Usually the gas supplier Capps then of when they don't pay the bills. If there is a gas meter there give transco a call they'll be able to sort it for free

No Ecv, just a steel pipe coming through the floor around 1 - 2 foot capped off, Old woman was using electric storage heaters and immersion

Thanks

A sensible person would wait until there is a meter in the cupboard to connect too

Get the customer to sort the meter out before you start work. It can take weeks and weeks for the meter to be fitted!

Sorry i have nt started yet have to do a price for the works Ok so i will tell them to arrange for a meter to be fitted asap

Many thanks
