Hi Ray, now I'm in the right place, were there any plans for Williams to do any more boiler packages similar to your current independent deal

Hi Matt

No, probably not.

Generally speaking, we prefer to price a boiler on its own, and price the various flue options separately.

Back in the day, 95% of boilers had a bog standard horizontal flue. These days, less than 70% have a straightforward horizontal flue. For customers wanting a vertical set up, forcing them to take the standard flue is actually a penalty if they don't use it.

The only reason that we used to package a flue with the Ideal independent is that they make us buy it that way in 2014. In our 2015 negotiations, we dug our heels in, and told them to feck off, and we won. So from our next list, the Ideal Independent will reduce in price, but you will be charged seperately for the flue.

If you are one of the 70% who want a standard flue, I think you will pay about £8 more for the combo. However if you are one of the 30% who don't you will save about £40.

That's a fair comment Ray. Was just curious. Didn't reslise the saving was so small. We all love a deal

Hi they used to say as a last resort you could discharge the D2 pipework at high level and turn it back to the wall. Similar to a combi boiler. I have just looked back through the regs this seems to have changed and it isn't mentioned now. It now mentions if at high level it should be discharged...

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
