Hi To All,
Just a quick question - I have a number of radiators (combi system) which have flow and returns entering the radiator at the bottom two corners (traditional method??) however I have two radiators which have the flow and returns inserted in one side ie top and bottom of the radiator. Is the flow at the top or bottom and is it possible to convert them back to the traditional entry at the bottom?? Thanks to all in advance.

yes normally just a case of rerunning the one at the top to the opposite corner id look carefully at the floors as there may have been a reason to pipe these rads in this way usual reasons would be a steel in the floor or a old hearth

why would you want to, and what are you trying to achieve ??
Hi Shaun - Thanks for your reply and all others too. Reason is the twp pipes drop down from the ceiling the width of the rad on the surface of the wall and look really ugly - I want to reroute the pipes so they are together in a boxed in corner and bring pipes into the rad from below.

as said above ever so slightly more effiecent 5% im not sure think its 1.5 but thats beside the point, yep change the pipework sounds ugly !

TBOE _ top bottom oposite end is the most efficinet way of doing it and normally all commercial building use this method. may save you 5-10% but on 7 rads would you notice a difference? Maybe on 100 large commercial rads it would make a big differnce, hence most domestic have BBOE - bottom bottom opposite end.

You can get BBSE - bottom bottom same end, sent me nuts first time i saw it, thought, how can that work???????? then realised its a specific valve that allows it!
