Hello everyone, I found this site whilst spending my third day trawling the internet looking for a simple thing such as fibre washers. Or.... simple so I thought. I have been unable to find the sizes I require or anybody that can help. I bought a lovely set of Barber Wilson Bath/shower mixer taps. They have the MTB mark on them that I have learned means "Metropolitan Water Board". They were rather dirty and it gave me great pleasure to put them on the wheel and polish them up. They are now good enough to fit into my new bathroom. The problem I now face is finding the replacement red fibre washers. Firstly I visited all my local plumbing shops, but they all said they were unable to help as they wouldn't have anything like them. Since then I have been on the internet trying to find the sizes I need...... no luck there either. I have even contacted Barwil direct and a tap renovation site.... both were also unable to help. Is it because the sizes I am after are not available any more? or are fibre washers not used much at all anymore? I find it hard to believe that the sizes I need are obsolete but perhaps it is so. I know it is probably my fault it is causing such a problem, I more than likely am using the wrong wording or jargon perhaps....I don't know. The sizes I need are OD=34 ID=30, OD=30 ID=24 and OD=29 ID=22. Please...if anyone could help me locate these, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you to you all in advance for taking the time to listen to my ramblings.

There should be some plumbers on here soon, when they get home. In the mean time I would guess the fibre washers are actually imperial sizes. So measure them in inches and then search the net. If no joy you might have to modify the best you can get.

Good Luck and nice job on the taps by the way, they look great.
Don't forget to post what your solution was when you find it.

Will have a look in me box of wonders tomorrow

Tamz might still have some in his pockets, been there since new unless he washed them !!

you can get them but doubt they will no longer have anything to do with taps, perhaps some on car parts!
personaly, i would just buy a box of rubber 'o' rings (guessing there to fit the spouts on?).
they will do...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/419-PC-O-...916097?hash=item235e0f4bc1:g:jasAAOSwnipWVw-b

or they might sell them in motorcycle parts for old british bikes like triumph, bsa, etc as they are imperial.
or these might be worth looking at...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130-Piece...hash=item1ebe9ece09:m:mKcUyXNfDN2sRq3PLgxD3Bg

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
