I never seem to get these to work for me.
They seem to keep weeping untill you nip it up enough to stop that then about 12-18 months later start to leak. When you undo the joint the washer has turned to mush. What am I doing wrong?
Where as if I replace it with a rubber washer then I can almost tighten it by hand and it'll seal first time and never leak.

Fibre washers will swell when they get damp and seal so don't nip them up really tight to begin with.

It's important to make sure your tap connectors are correctly aligned to the taps.

Don't use rubber washers in these situations - they are not designed to do that job and can squeeze out in time............then you have a flood!

Ok, thanks for the reply.
I guess that I'll have to keep trying with the fibre washers.

flexi connectors and taps, never leave a forwarding address if you use these regularly!

Hmm!

Interesting about fibre washers. We found there are fibre washers and there are fibre washers. Although they are the same size they sometimes vary in thickness. Some have next to no meat on them, when you tighten them, you can imagine the metal surfaces touching together despite the washer. Go for the thick ones if you can get them.
