Hi. I thought I'd do my bit and return a little of the help I have received on this brilliant forum.

I recently sent this tweet to Drayton
@DraytonHeating
Hi. I think this is one of your push fit elbows. Can it be demounted (the push fit)
If so, how. Can it be remounted or are they one time use only.
Ta. Any videos on their installation.

Their reply is in the photo
Basically, they said they are one time use only

Hope this proves helpful to other hapless DIYers like me. Haha

Thanks again to everyone over the last few days.

Hi Belli
Yes, you are correct. I was just thinking ahead to possible future problems and was trying to ascertain some info.
I hate plumbing and whenever I take on a plumbing task, (only at home) I always expect everything to be problematic. Haha
I simply posted this thread in case someone else could benefit.
I've successfully completed all the repairs I had been making. So, jobs a good un

Thanks for your input though.

To be fair, with the exception of caps, I don't think I'd reuse any pushfit fitting, not without changing the o-ring atleast.

Just for info with regard to reusing pushfit fittings. I only use John Guest pushfit in our training workshop because it is easily demountable without tools and I can reuse them with the students time and time again. I would not re-use a pushfit fitting in a customer's property for liability reasons but I do have a lot of faith in this brand if the need arose.

The fittings on our pressure test pump have been on there for about a year now, mounted and pressure tested and demounted several times a day almost every day. I have never had one fail or start to leak. I have never changed the o-rings either.

I hope that this will give people confidence in the reliability of JG fittings at least. The same goes for all the other JG fittings I have going into and coming out of student's jobs regularly. Again I don't remember the last time we had one leak.

I do not have any relationship with JG just that I use a lot of their fittings here.
