Now I'm no expert having not done a legionella course but how do you safely remove tanks with this crap in?

Looks like legionella to me! 3 tanks full of the stuff on top..

Not quite sure why it's also uploaded a photo of my damaged wetsuit on my computer too lol but it's the first one that should be more interesting!

Good job it's only the damaged wetsuit and not a compromising picture,lol
 
It is bacterial growth. The water has been lying stagnant for a while. Throw in some chlorine tablets
 
Cheers Tamz, it will all be decommisioned as we are quoting to fit an unvented cylinder. The existing cylinder has nothing connected to it anymore except a boiler heating it for no reason and a secondary return pump circulating the water constantly.
