Hi , need to cut flow and return pipes and hot and cold pipes from boiler to put back into wall vertically approx 3 inches , the pipes in question are 400mm below combi boiler but approx 4mts in distance horizontally , if I was to drain a radiator (I don’t have a drain valve ) would this remove the water sufficiently so I can cut into them and reroute or do I need to do something else ? The radiators are on main level and the boiler and pipes are attic level
Any help would be beneficial to me

Probably, though sometimes pipework goes down and then up.

You could also use a self-cutting drain valve (or drill a small hole to check for water present) where you intend to make your cuts anyway. Don't leave the self-cutting valve plumbed in, but can be handy for draining down if you don't have enough towels to deal with a potential spillage.

Ric2013 thanks , the pipes definitely don’t go up and down as I can trace them from boiler to where I need to cut etc , so on the face of that you think draining 1 rad would take enough water out those pipes to allow me to cut ? Pipes are 22mm where I need to be , self cutting sounds a great option though thanks
