I am interested in purchasing a field, however currently it does not have any water.
I have contacted the water board who have given me a quote for the work that they carry out i.e. connection from water connection to my field boundary. They advised that i now need to source a contractor to do the work in my actual field i.e. need a tap and possibly automatic water installed in the field.

Can anyone recommend any contractors within the east midlands (Nottingham area)?

Many thanks for any help :)

youll probably find the best people to ask are local farmers as theyll have the machinery to dig a trench the pipework part is the easy bit

youd also be better seeing if a farmer will let you link to his trough feed for a fee if he's off meter:) mind you, if you have bought a field over his head he probably wont be interested

Thanks - I was told by the water board that i could not do this because we will both have seperate pipe work and have own own water metres.

Thanks - So just to confirm it would be best to ask the farmer who lives opposite the field to dig the trench and then get a plumber to complete the pipework? Do you have any idea for price for 100 feet work within my field boundary?

I was quoted approx £1000 for 230 feet to my field boundary plus payment to an independant contractor for the work itself within my boundary!

The water board did say it could be abit cheaper so only a rough guide

get the bit in your field layed prior to the water company comming and give there blokes £50 to do the connection
