I had two boilers in my basket yesterday. main eco elite 24 and 30kw. (Not the crazy low price ones that were sold out) I wrongly presumed, that because they were in stock that i understood the price to be held in my checkout. As i wast in a position to sort payment til this morning when i logged on the price was back to normal, so back to local merchant i go..

Sorry Phill. You weren't alone in that misapprehension.

But if you think about it, if we allowed people to do that, everyone would quickly learn to fill their baskets with everything that they might possibly need in the next month at Black Friday prices, and then delete the unwanted stuff as and when, just keeping what they want. Thats not what a sale is about. You get the chance to buy stuff, for a limited time, at a special price. But you have to actually buy it, not just take an option on buying it.

Putting stuff into a basket doesn't commit the buyer at all. We can't give a one sided, open ended committment to people who only "might" buy.

However, we will make it clearer in future promotional material.

Well somebody else has it now so no worries.
Local place is good so ill stick with them for now and work at it with them for better rates.
Im sure its on the site though. Possibly something else but it saves quotes and guarantees prices for upto a month ?? not that i wanted to utilise that length of time. Just get home in the morn and use the right bank card lol

Yes, with our normal pricing, there is an option to save your basket as a quote, and guarantee those prices for 30 days. But you have to actually click the "save as quote button, and its not for special offers.
