I want to know what the maximum depth is (in accordance with the latest building regs) when chasing out for 15mm pipes in a 100mm aerated block internal wall. Can anyone out there help me...?
Thanks.

99mm? Is this a trick question?

Hehe!!

I don't think there is a maximum depth but as with most projects some common sense is often required. For example, if the pipes are going along the wall where pictures might be hung, or an electric cable might be installed then I'd bury them further in, hoping to make enough clearance for nails hammered in and so on.

you can chase in a max of 1/3 thickness of the wall vertically ,and 1/6thickness of the wall horizotally if my brickwork memory serves me well

Thanks for that defender. I didn't think of how the wall was going to stay up if you'd taken a chunk out of it!!

Just remember that this applies to the thickness of the skin not to the overall thickness. eg the wall may appear to be 250 thick but the piece that you are chasing into is may only be 115 thick.
