Hello chaps

Do any of you get customers to sign a disclaimer form to cover you against any accidental damage caused when working in there property?

A mate of mine had someone try and blag costs of repairing a kitchen floor when he pulled out the washing machine. He said it was already damaged but it's his word against the customers!

Basically looking for something to cover my backside!
 
take pics of any damage before hand (make sure there time stamped) or tell customer of damages before you get tools out of van
 
It's still your word against theres though!

if you take pics with time stamps, but you can normally sense with cus are going to be a pain

to be honest mate the customers who i've had problems with in the past, have been the ones i thought were ok during/after the job!!!
 
true but after so many years you should know dead certs for aggro like washing machine skid marks on the new lino and take a picture on your digital camera and delete after say three months.

Accidents happen fella... Doesn't matter how long you've been in the game!

Been in the game for 34 years and have only ever had a couple of these customers who try it on. IMHO, it would put good customers off and isn't that why we have public liability insurance?

you would be surprised how many people dont have public liability insurance, mines 10m think there trying to tell me something :D
 
Fallon 1982, accidents do happen, if I've done something I expect to pay for it. I take pictures so I don't get asked to pay for someone elses accident.Take the picture when customer is out of room, they don't watch us the whole job.
