Hi Guys

im just double checking that solvent and push fit 110mm pipe is the same

i am glueing everything on this job and the merchant has told me the pipe is the same

can you confirm this for me ha

As long as it's the right material. Solvent weld is for uPVC (and ABS, but if it's domestic waste most likely uPVC).
Doesn't work with polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), for that you need compression fittings or socket (or butt) fusion.
Push fit works for any, provided no significant end loads or the pipes are anchored somehow.

Can't use which underground, Shaun? I assume you mean solvent can't be used underground on the grounds that Supersleve is connected with a kind of pushfit, so if it's okay for clay, it's probably also okay for plastic?

other way i mate cant glue underground and the orange looks naff above :D

So same way, you mean? Push fit underground is okay, but glue is not okay underground?
What I meant was that if Supersleve is okay underground and it is pushfit then it follows logically that pushfit is okay underground.

Almost all 110mm above ground can be glued and pushfit as its a type of upvc, abs which alot of small bore waste pipe is made from can't be used outside as its not uv resistant. Makes you wonder why almost all brands use abs over pvc. You can get pvc waste if you look for it, hunter is one. Toolstations waste is also pvc but slightly hit and miss with other brands fittings.

Pvc is also better for higher temps.

ABS is much better than PVC for brittle fracture at low temp. That's why PVC is verboten for compressed air.

Hi, I seemed to have a blockage in kitchen sink. A plumber came and cleared all the pipework that is visible inside my home (there was debris and pebbles!) We saw that the pipe that takes water down the gutter was visibly full to the top. He said he will return with a coil to push through...

Hi All, I am looking to take my bath out and fit a shower. Regards to tanking. Is it ok to just seal everything with plastic rather than just paint tanking slurry? Thanks in anticipation, best regards Staggers

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.
