power flush
Tidal power or tidal energy is harnessed by converting energy from tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity using various methods.
Although not yet widely used, tidal energy has the potential for future electricity generation. Tides are more predictable than the wind and the sun. Among sources of renewable energy, tidal energy has traditionally suffered from relatively high cost and limited availability of sites with sufficiently high tidal ranges or flow velocities, thus constricting its total availability. However, many recent technological developments and improvements, both in design (e.g. dynamic tidal power, tidal lagoons) and turbine technology (e.g. new axial turbines, cross flow turbines), indicate that the total availability of tidal power may be much higher than previously assumed and that economic and environmental costs may be brought down to competitive levels.
Historically, tide mills have been used both in Europe and on the Atlantic coast of North America. The incoming water was contained in large storage ponds, and as the tide goes out, it turns waterwheels that use the mechanical power to produce mill grain. The earliest occurrences date from the Middle Ages, or even from Roman times. The process of using falling water and spinning turbines to create electricity was introduced in the U.S. and Europe in the 19th century.Electricity generation from marine technologies increased an estimated 16% in 2018 and an estimated 13% in 2019. Policies promoting R&D are needed to achieve further cost reductions and large-scale development. The world's first large-scale tidal power plant was the Rance Tidal Power Station in France, which became operational in 1966. It was the largest tidal power station in terms of output until Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station opened in South Korea in August 2011. The Sihwa station uses sea wall defense barriers complete with 10 turbines generating 254 MW.

Hi Forum
I have replaced all pipework and rads over the past 3 years.
The boiler has finaly given up
So, before I put in a new one, do I really need to power flush?
I was going to drain the system and have a look for debris, if its pretty clear
I'd have thought a power flush was un-neccassary...

Quick one... if you want to do a power flush from a combi boilers pump... whats the best way of tricking the boiler into thinking the pumps running (without wrecking the pump) in order to heat the water up in the system... as you all know, if you disconnect the pump the boiler wont wont fire..

Hello All
I'm looking for an honest opinion! We have just moved into a house with a big radiator sludge problem. The sludge has got round into the boiler and damaged the heat exchanger. My problem is this, have been advised to have power flush done and magnetic valve fitted on the one hand. On...

My plummer is fitting a new Worcester Greenstar 37cdi in my house. I have 11 rads, 8 old ones and 3 new ones. My plummer is recommending a power flush, but I'm thinking should I replace the old rads instead. If I do replace the old rads would I still need a power flush?

Hello,
I have just had a new boiler (Vaillant) and radiators fitted. The heating engineer has said that I should have the system power flushed and can do this in a couple of weeks time for £300. The new boiler and radiators are working fine, though the radiator on the end of the loop is not...

Hi, I'm thinking of investing in a power flushing kit for my business. I would like to know your experiences with different kits......are they efficient, easy to use, reliable etc? So far I'm considering the Fernox and Kamco kits. Thanks
