Do you ever go to a house, more than once, where things just go wrong ... EVERY TIME YOU GO THERE!!!???

It's like I'm cursed every time I work in this flat!

First time I went I somehow ended up with a nice straight towel rail, stood back and one of the brackets was literally way out - no idea how that happened either as I used a laser level :/

Today I went to run cold mains from behind the w/m, chase it into concrete floor across the kitchen, under the cabinet and through the wall under the bath to connect the bath/basin/toilet.

Did my chase. Was please. Flooring guy says: can you just go a little bit further as it will just hit the plinth where you are. Sure I say!

When I chiselled the extra bit with my sds I hit the hidden 15mm gas pipe :/ aaarrrggghhhh

It was nicely fitted right next to water pipes too! Nightmare! A I managed to get done was chase the pipe and cement over it and fix the gas pipe..

FFS!

Hi Jay,

Do you wear gloves when you work?

Just did a comparison of my fingers and nails to the fingers and nails in the pic.

Mine don't look at all similar!!!

Edit: Mine look more like the damaged copper pipe!!!!

Hi, I live in a house that is 20yr old. There is a single soil stack running from the top floor (of three) through the first floor bathroom and then through the kitchen to the drains. A while back I started to hear a drip hitting the kitchen ceiling (now with some ceiling evidence too) from...

Hello, bit of a noob question but would someone be able to help me to understand the pipes coming off our boiler. It's a Grant oil combi boiler, and where the pipes come in is in a room at the front of the house. I am about to box them in but I really wanted to understand what the various pipes...

We have just moved in to a 1934 Semi- and I am getting round a few simple DIY tasks, including a couple of plumbing-part renewals such as modern pipe/u-bend/fittings to kitchen sink, rinse sink etc as preventative maintenance! Nothing complex or specialist, that's for you expert guys! But in...

Hi all I am just after a bit of advice. I'm buying a new house with a downstairs bathroom. I can not see a vent pipe on the outside of the property or an AAV in the loft. It's a terraced house, so thought maybe it shares the neighbours vent stack? It look like all the waste pipes go down...

I am seeking some advice on how to seal up my sump pit. I currently get condensation on the walls and floor around the pit, and in the past there has been accumulation of mold on the walls, due to about 6" of standing water in the bottom of the pit. The air also smells bad and is somewhat...
