Installing a thermal solar panel today, it came with a Viessmman controller, unexpectedly, it came with two sensors, but neither were marked as high and low temp or collector and cylinder etc. One comes with a grey cable and no other markings, the other, in a sealed bag, has a black cable, again no markings, but its bag has a part no. 7170965, anyone able to identify these for me? regards to all, Brendan

The grey cable is for collector censer black for cylinder the grey is heat proof

many thanks, Gray, obviously you've had occasion to use these. I'll be able to get home now before it gets dark.

Just finished my solar thermal training this week and while its fresh im 150% positive that the black is the collector sensor!

Did you do viesmann I dint think so as I said grey wire
Use the black one outside and it will melt and I know this with experience of doing it on my first 3 instals lol
Ps don't fit viesmann solar any more to many problems with air

i didnt do a manufacturers course, i did the logic certification course. The course instructor did stress that the black sensor was always the collector sensor although it seems he/i am wrong in this case! Just shows how important it is to consult the maufacturers instructions! Just out of interest is there a solar thermal kit you do recommend?

Also, do you install the solar manifold and framework, cylinder, pump station etc and then just fit the tubes prior to commisioning?

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
