Hi All,

First post and very pleased to find this excellent site!

I was trying to determine from the engineers around my area if any of them have had an inspection carried out by their Gas Safe Rep in the last twelve months and also if they actually know who they are?

I ask this as I do not as yet want to contact Gas Safe and ask them about this; I was dead against them taking over the register as I do not feel that they have got the interests of the installers and public at heart but are more keen on making a profit - something that many accused CORGI of but I feel that we were always going to be better off with the latter.

So providing none of you mind letting me know, could you please select your option in the poll and then I can gauge how much attention to us is being paid by Gas Safe. The results of the poll are not public, so your choice will not be known by anyone, this is purely a numbers exercise, thank you for your time.

So far from those I have been in touch with, the results are not encouraging ...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
