REDSAW

everyone gets some right weirdoes at times dont they?.

i had a call to go and give a quote (well i opted to call around as i couldnt understand the broken english of the indian gent).
when i arrived the customer wanted to know how much to change his basin taps to a monotap?.
i told him that the seperate basin tap holes is not big enough to accept a mono and that it would look odd not being central. he then asked if i could cut a hole in the center of the basin and blank of the other 2 holes:confused:. i told him yes but, wouldnt it be cheaper to just replace the bowl for what your after as it would look a mess, he said he dont want to pay too much or change the basins (2 of)?.
well what are you after?.
he told me that he dosnt want to waste water when washing his hands by turning on the hot and cold tap to get the right temp. i asked him why not put the plug in then to mix the hot and cold? he looked at me gone out as i was leaving:mad:.

what worried me the most is i think he is a doctor:eek::eek::eek:

Hi. There are only 1,155,347,678 people in India so perhaps they know something we do not about hygiene?

Did a service to a DFE along time ago - supplied new coals etc. The woman asked me up to see the bedroom ! - did a quick exit after getting paid in cash. I wonder what would have happened if I had agreed.

Got called to descale a WC....when I got round there, big house in a posh road...go inside and it was like stepping back in time....the old lady showed me the bog. The pan inside looked like a rock from hastings beach. Covered in hard yellow lime scale about 12mm thick. Gross.

The old lady who had called was oblivious the the fact that the whole bathroom was caked in dirt and scale...and the old boy watched me shiftly (he had no teeth, false or otherwise).

I ended up telling em I couldn't shift it, and would quote them for a full suite change...no way I was even going to attempt it.

Very weird people.

You probably gave her a little GLOW,(You should have checked the VENTILATION requirements) and reminded her of one of her OLD FLAMES,thought she would get you up stairs to check her PULLing powers and see if she could find any SPILLAGE,if all the CLEARANCES were correct, you could have gone for the GROSS INPUT and checked out her FLUE WAYS for sticky SOOTY DEPOSITS and any other possible RESTRICTIONS
But then again can't be to careful with those DFE fires !!
That why I always insist in a early warning system, alarm ect
:eek::eek:

There was the guy who asked my tiler to put 2 soap holders in the shower at about 12" off the floor. When we asked why as it would be too low, he said it was for his wife to put her feet into while they're in the shower....kinky bugger. He also had us put a sloaping shelf in the shower at the other end for her to 'lean' on.

He was never graphic about it, but it was no secret what it was all for.

superb, that just made me laugh out loud )

A mate of mine built an extension for a fella and his boyfriend and it included a loo styled as a public toilet complete with urinals and cubicles.

I've walked away from a few jobs where the whole place has been so rotten you wouldn't want to let your dog go in the place.

I had one customer come down in sexy underwear, come onto me, told me to come upstairs and 'help myself'!!!!!!!!!

I told him where to go!

I was asked to do a job for a crazy old woman. The house was piled from floor to ceiling with boxes, there was rubbish and empty food cans all over the place in the kitchen, there wasn't room to move for the junk. The floors were black and you couldn't see the pattern of the carpet or lino. She had a dirty dog which had crapped on the floor. Everything was covered with black dirt and to cap it all off there was a long dead rat in the bottom of the cupboard under the sink.

At the time I was so skint I just couldn't afford to turn the job down. I went off to Arco and got a set of disposable chemical overalls and several pairs of protective gloves before starting.

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
