WB heatslave 12/14 installed in 2005 with the 7 day timer control. Serviced annually.

I am doing some building work and have removed two rads. One removed yesterday.

This morning I switched on the boiler for hot water and noticed water near a TRV where the rad was.
Checked the TRV and it was not closing.
No pressure in the CH system.

No hot water either and the burner would not turn off, so I switched off the electrics which stopped it.
Replaced the TRV and then pressurised the CH circuit then curiously the hot water heated up fairly well, the heat exchanger working?

Turned on both HW and CH separately and the pump sounded like it was working as it turned off when I adjusted the temperature dial, but no burner. The lock out light was off.

Any suggestions please for the fault or what to check.
I could remove the 7 day timer kit to see if this makes any difference?
