Hi all,

Ive got a problem with my Vokera Linea HE i hope someone can help me with :)

I returned home last night to find a small damp patch under the Vokera with Fault Code 10 showing on the display.
After calling the home insurance company a engineer visited this morning and gave the following diagnosis;
  • Boiler losing voltage to gas valve from pcb, recommend replacing both
  • Low water pressure which indicates leaking, new O-ring required

The quote for the work £832!
(pcb £428, gas valve £180 & 25 o-ring)
The only issue is there is a £500 limit on work so i would have to pay the difference £332.

Having done a little research on the net today seems a lot of people get the fault 10 code after the condensate drain pipe becomes frozen.
They recommend drying the clear tube from the combustion chamber leaving it a few hours and resetting the Vokera.
Now i dont want to risk doing anything myself with gas but would like to save a few quid if possible and get a second opinion before committing to any work.

To prevent this happening again either insulating the external pipe or rerouting the condensate pipe internally to drain into a waste pipe.

Does anyone have any thoughts on both the quote and/or a possible solution or a vokera specialist in the Leeds area.

thanks

Mark.

I would certainly get a second opinion, even if the diagnosis is right the price is ridiculous.

I agree with mfgs I stopped reading at £25 for an o ring. I like mark up as much as the next man but those prices are steep!

Thanks for the replies, i was expecting it to be a little higher because its going through home assist but was totally shocked at the price.
Im going to call the insurer back and ask if they have an alternative company in west yorkshire we can use, as i just dont trust the guy.

Im pretty sure its all down to the condensate pipe becoming blocked at some point and it will be a relatively quick and easy job.

Can anyone recommend a good plumber / vokera expert in west yorkshire?

There's a few from your neck of the woods on here.

Just listen for the chants of "We're great, we are!" as they bus back from Aston Villa......

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
