Hi,

I am a 28 year old plumber who has recently completed City and Guilds Technical Certificate in Level 2 and Level 3 Plumbing. Alongside side this I have also completed NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.Since February of last year I shadowed a plumber and assisted with the installation of bathroom suites and dealt with domestic maintenance on a full time basis, 6 days a week. We mainly installed bathroom suites and i also gained experience in other trades such as plastering, tiling, joinery and electrics. I am now however trying to find employment within the industry in the manchester area. I am hard working, reliable and willing to learn. I have a full driving license with own transport. If you know of anybody who has any vacansies or ideas of how to get into the industry that would be great.

Thanks

Nick

Hello mate, I live in Rochdale, with your qualifications you shouldnt find it to hard to find work as you seem more than capable, I will look out for you mate

Thanks joe. It seems that most companies want at least 5 years experience and seeing as I have only just qualified I dont have that much experience.

Get in with firms that do council work mate, our firm takes people on fresh out of college (those that did apprenticeships, not full time college though.) Experience is a bonus but not a deal breaker. My mate in kent works for a firm doing the same sort of thing and I know they take less experienced blokes too.

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
