Here it is, the poll for the Most Used Plumbing Merchants 2017!
We asked UKPlumbersForums.co.uk, the most used plumbing advice website for heating engineers and plumbers alike, which plumbing suppliers they used most. We then collated all the responses, and created a poll.

Here it is. Well overdue, so apologies for that.

Vote for you 2 most used plumbing suppliers out of the list.
  • You have two votes
  • All public can see who has voted for who - Keeps it open and honest
  • Those who have no posts to the forum cannot vote on the poll
  • If you work for one of the companies or have a financial interest (one of their suppliers or whatever) then clearly you're going to vote for them - so it tarnishes the honest replies, so don't vote.
We have also found out who are:-
Note that us pointing out these facts don't change the facts. They'd be the most used whether we did this poll or not. Also, don't try to cheat the poll. We know the drill. Those creating accounts to bump up a supplier will have all their votes removed and accounts banned.

Plumbcenter for boilers.

Plumbfix/Screwfix for everything else.

If none of these places are nearby, then I will just go to the nearest pub and dismantle the toilet and steal the fittings that I need.
Have you voted in the options above?

You should combine Screwfix and Plumbfix. I voted for Screwfix as I didn't see Plumbfix until after I'd voted
You can change your votes.

I'd like to see which out of the two get used most to be fair so we can see over the years how they're individually doing.

Fair do's!

Maybe put them next to each other.

Too late now matey I can't move them around without the votes going weird. Once the poll is posted we can't do anything but add more options which then go at the bottom. Or reset votes if they've been cheated.

Could tell screwfix / plumbfix would have a high count when I was reading through the other thread but couldn't really tell who would be next used most or which independents score high.

Seems toolstation do well.

What about showerdoc, I believe that's very important though. They always help and are very friendly though
We asked and literally left it months and it wasn't mentioned matey.

If you use them then I'll add them if you want to change one of your two votes but if you'd still vote somebody else then it doesn't make sense to.

It was mentioned by me :)
However, I would definitely vote for them as they are rally helpful. I believe quite a few people use them as they are specialised in recognising shower valves.
Thanks for your respond Dan

You didn't say it in the thread else it would have been added. And we are asking if they're the most used, not the most cool firm. :D

What about James Hargreaves plumbing depot Dan? We have them in the north, I've been using them a lot latley moving away from Srewfix. Really good prices and better quality.

Screwfix and Plumbfix are the same shop, I know it's been mentioned above but there is literally no difference other than a few characters on the website. When you log on to the Plumbfix site and look at the address bar it is screwfix.
Looking at the electric forums poll you have combined them there.
i.e. Screwfix/elecfix.
Most Used Electrical Suppliers & Electrical Wholesalers

So far is:-

  1. Screwfix
  2. Plumbcenter
  3. City Plumbing
  4. Toolstation
  5. Plumbing
I'll do another ask in a few weeks then publish our findings in some mags and things.

Look forward to next year to see how the results change.

Either way the poll doesn't change in terms of places. Screwfix are first with or without combining the results for them.

When we announce the results we will mention that plumbfix are screwfix etc

When I next to the sparky one I'll separate them there too.

Their own marketing campaigns are different so to see over the years which ones are getting the accounts registered to them would be nice IMO.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
