This wont effect firms that are currently VAT registered but what do you lot think of the possible new VAT threshold of £25000 per year turn over??

Pretty sure I read somewhere this week that the idea has been scratched for now and they are looking at a sliding scale model instead.

Think it will be good but any works under 10-15 k vat goes to 5% so it doesn't hurt as much should increase the amount of work

In response to the original post, I do like the fact that small businesses and small sole traders are currently supported by having the option to pay VAT on materials and not have to charge it on labour, so it would be a bummer to have to start charging VAT. More to the point, I really could do without the extra paperwork involved.

I suppose now that the Conservative Party seems to be losing its claim to be the natural party of business, anything is possible.

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.
