Hi all, i am member of the forum and Gas safe registered.
i just want your opinions on something.

I have spent 20 minutes on the phone to Gloworm on Monday attempting to get some literature for above boiler.
their web site gives no mention to the space saver so no chance of a download.
After 20 minutes on hold i gave up and sent in a web based message requesting the literature to be emailed to me. Today they sent me an email stating that if i wanted a download i would have to send them my email address!!
Has it always been a poor customer service from gloworm? Baxi, Ideal Worcester all have reasonable response time to calls in my opinion.
I have perused through the posts on space saver on this site, (there are many) to glean any information on the positioning of the appliance.
Though i have not had eyes on this boiler i have been told by the owner that it has run sweetly for 22 years and had a kind of annual service by a "old school", gas safe engineer who has now retired. He also told me that the boiler is in a open hallway upstairs sat about 75mm above floorboards, and this is why i want to establish if it complies with regulations. The 75mm above combustible materials sounds wrong to me.
I was given the landlords cert from the last engineer who made no reference to this, there were also no analyzer readings recorded.
I am calling in tomorrow to fit a cooker and service the boiler, looks like i won't be armed with a set of manufacturer's instructions unless one of you guys know where it can be downloaded?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I never have problems with Glowworm?!?! Probably the problem is that they themselves don't have so many people familiar with the older boilers. Is this what you're after ? Plumbase Manuals should have added. Join club energy and you get what seems to be priority phone calls through the Glow-worm app

spot on Riley, thanks.
mmm? recommended clearance of 100mm.

22 years of service from this boiler, and i will be informing them that it was installed incorrectly!
As it is only a recommendation, and the boiler has been happily doing it's thing for so long what would ones action be here if there are no signs of distress below the boiler?

As long as there's no scorching or similar I suppose you can make the engineering call and tell them it's NCS (I know it doesn't exist anymore) I would take a copy of the instructions with you too
