I live in a rented house with a Saniflo system in the upstairs bathroom. Currently we have been having some problems with the upstairs toilet running all the time and reflushing itself, so we've turned off the water to it. However, the Saniflo pump is still turning on, every 9 minutes. Does anyone know how I can stop this? The toilet tank has drained itself and is sitting empty, there is water in the toilet bowl, so I don't know what the pump is pumping or why it is running. I've checked and none of the taps in that bathroom are running or dripping.
The second problem we have (because Saniflos are an endless source of problems) is that, when we are able to use that bathroom and flush the toilet, 'water' wells up in the shower base. We can't use the shower because it leaks badly through the floor into the lounge below. The landlord is not really interested because we have a second bathroom downstairs. There is no evidence of sewage leaking anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions about this? I know the obvious answer is to get the Saniflo engineer back in, but he's expensive and I feel the landlord should be fixing it.

1. Saniflo's are not an endless source of problems, if fitted correctly.

2. Landlords issue get him to sort it. Get environmental health involved if he is dragging his heals or avoiding the issue.

Where in the uk are you and out of interest how much did the sani guy charge for how long on site?

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
