Hi
After search on net have come to this site and hoping maybe someone can help me .

I have ecotec pro 28 boiler installed and still under warranty .it is fitted with salus rf500 wireless thermostat.
Previously salus Thermostat was set on lowest setting 5c so when heating was required will just increase required temperature and boiler wil fire up and fan can be heard boost , rads will start warming up , not long rads will be untouchable .

I recently noticed battery low icon on salus and changed batteries, at same time decided to set heat settings so i don't have to manually call for heating.

I noticed my rads are not untouchable hot however are warm.i checked rad temperature on boiler settings and is on max 75c.
valves settings on rad have not been changed.i further noticed that when heating is called from salus thermostat , boiler does fire up but not at a fast boost speed at it used to be previously .( like a boost fan vacuum sound )

I studied the manual tried the test mode (ladder mode). I have noticed boiler does fire up making a fast boost sound and rads do get very hot untouchable.

I spoke to the installation company and explained all this , they advised to check temperature settings however are willing to send valiant engineer out but if no fault is found will charge me .

Any advice from you pros here that may recommend before I commit to calling engineer out ?

I also recently noticed salus thermostat shows icon of boiler flame when sometimes boiler is not running (heating).

I have checked for air in all radiators and all ok

After changing batteries scroll the temperature down below actual temp until unit no longer calls for heat. Then scroll back up for heating to come back on. Happens regular when batteries been out.

I done reset everything . Sometimes it is calling for heat but boiler is doing nothing .
What I don't indrstsnd is why my rads are not getting very hot via salus calling heat but on test they are piping hot .
Temperature on boiler is set at 75c for rads .

The thermostat has lost its wirless connection salus are renown for this it will also be under warranty but you will probably have to purchace another unit then send the other unit back for a refund my advice bin it and get a honeywell unit fitted , valliant will charge you if they come out you need a electrician to swap the stat . cheers kop

I had a feeling that may be the issue however sometimes it does manage to communicate with receiver .
Would that be normal symptoms of a bad unit ?

When it does communicate with the receiver does the boiler fire up and radiators get hot?

Yes, only thing is in past boiler when fired up used to make a turbo vacuum fan sound (it still does if you run it in test mode, ladder)rad will start to warm up quite quickly .now when thermostat calls for heat boiler does fire up but not that turbo sound , rads do warm up but not hot as they can get in test mode .

If the boiler fires up when the thermostat calls for heat the problem is unlikely to be the thermostat. The problem is probably boiler related especially if you say it sounds different, the best thing to do would be to get a gas safe registered boiler engineer to have a look at it.

Power everything off leave for 5 minutes then switch back on let the stat pair dont keep putting it in test mode you may have it set in low fire? give that a try . cheers kop

Solved...
Turns out valves that turn of water next to magnaclean filter were horizontal but were actually off.
These valves turn horizontal and "on" should be visable scrolled on valve.
However you can turn opposite direction and will stop in horizontal position but "on" will not be visable , this stops the water flow and easily mistaken.
Boiler had been serviced recently and engineer must had left them in wrong position .

Heating working to full capacity .

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
