More heating problems. We have a very old vented, fully pumped ch system and Thorne Olympic boiler. The heating is coming on with the hot water and I suspect the motorised valve. I think it's from the same era as the boiler, and I can't see any markings on it to identify it. From the picture can anyone tell me what make/model it is and if they are still available?

Many thanks.

No there not still available looks like an old servowarm or sunvic

Thanks for your replies. Will a Honeywell fit in the pipework without any alterations? Will it have the same number of wires and same wire colours?

Probably not but it should with not much work eg a coupling and a short but of pipe

It's a Satchwell.
I would replace it with a Honeywell
You'll probably need to change the nuts and olives.

Thanks for your replies.

Yes, Satchwell/Sunvic by the looks of it. However, it looks like it may be a motor on, motor off valve. Will the wiring be a straight swap to the Honeywell, or do I need to make changes.

It does have 'Satchwell' printed on it, which is probably a clue! :)
Bloody amazing for their long lifespan!
I use Myson motorised valves now because the Honeywells were not lasting

Don't expect the modern Sunvic actuator to last long.
I would replace entire valve because of the wear that old valve will have.

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
