Hi

I have got a part cold radiator upstairs that does not have a bleed valve. I have tried bleeding the other rads but only water comes out. can I fit a drain cock to this rad to try and expel the air that way or is it better to buy a new rad with a bleed valve. it is the only rad in the house without a bleed valve and all other rads and water are working fine

thanks

Not sure what you mean. Many rads have two 1/2" bsp top tappings and two bottom ones the same.

If you have two plugs in the top tappings, all you need do is take one out and replace it with an air bleed plug.

Hope this helps.

hi. it is a single radiator and does not have any tappings that can be knocked out. the only entry and exit points are for the water flow. im thinking the rad may be off an older sealed system that didnt require bleeding....does this help?????

thanks

Have a look at the rear of the radiator at the top. There should be a bleed point in one of the corners.

sorry...i know it sounds ridiculous....but there is no bleed point on the rad...not sure how old it is...it must be unique if no one has seen one without a bleed point...thats why im struggling!!!....i thought of fitting a drain cock on it but as it is an upstairs rad would this be wise??...

thanks again

well after mooching around at the back of the rad in the left hand corner....guess what Ive finally found .......the bleed valve..... hiding...at last its hot

thanks folks...i knew i could rely on your experience....

Never seen a rad without a bleed valve, older rads had the bleed valve on the REAR of the radiator on the top left or right.

as mushybees says it sounds like a round top rad and the bleed valve should be to the right hand side of the rad but actually behind the rad facing the wall.

I recently bled a radiator that's bleed valve was behind it, covered by a small plastic piece.

Get a make up mirror or a dentists mirror , i have used this before when it was round the back and too tight to the wall.

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...

Hi guys. I'm trying to identify a toilet model before ordering a seat for a customer. I went to what used to be a Roca stockist (they no longer are) and one of the guys there reckoned it might be "The Gap". I went to the new stockist and the guy there disagreed it was "The Gap" and that he'd...
