Best tool for pump nuts is a set of small chains as it puts equal pressure on every face of nut (six points of contact at equal pressure so nut stays round and comes of easy)also better for tighter spaces.
I have a pump spanner ok for installing.
Remember pump nuts are thin so at two points of contact spanner grips etc your clamping the nut onto pump.
If I lost my pump spanner I would not replace it,if I lost my small chains I would.

Guess a chain wrench in Halfords for undoing oil filters would do the job?
Sure my small one is record I can get the no off it if you would like to know.
I will Google last chain wrench I used was 6 foot for large steel pipes.
I still have my full set of chains only up to four feet though, you must have worked on some seriously big pipe work or had small arms.
Iron for sewage pipes on treatment plant
