Hello!

First time poster and hoping some kind soul can help.

I’ve been fitting a frameless shower screen enclosure. Inline panel with the door in it and then an end panel at 90 degrees to it. It’s been a nightmare trying to get it all straight and now the the door magnetic seal is less the useless. Partly because I can’t get the door to sit 100%. It’s just a couple of mm out at but it seems to be making all the difference.

Does anyone know if , or could recommend, the after market magnetic seals will be any better at keeping the door held tightly closed?

Thanks

Pics of the enclosure will help but I also know with these type of enclosures you don't get much space for error, so if your walls aren't square or level or your tray isn't level, it will be very difficult to fit the screen correctly.

Ah.. it’s an April prestige 2 frameless shower enclosure.

I’m just trying to work out how to add pictures from my iPhone to this thread!

The seal is only ever so slightly out but the magnets only just “bites” at the top and I can see slither of light through the bottom...

Push the trim together there’s a tiny bit of adjustment in there

Hi Shaun Corbs..

I have just been trying that but no luck unfortunately. It’s a shame as the magnetic strip the came with the kit that I didn’t need ( it’s for fitting the door etc in recess) is really strong and wide and I reckon it would hold it just fine

I hate frameless! Smashed 2 of them and had a massive problem with customer on another! They are a pain in the backside! I will not ever fit another one! No play, no movement and worse of all they are ridiculously heavy!
Just re looked and it looks like the one i had problems with! The instructions are useless and the holes for door hinges are slightly too big meaning it will never sit properly plus the seal always had a hole between the metal and the magnet! Spent hours trying to fix it.
My advice is to replace but failing that check everything is level and the hinges are sitting properly! And door is level!
There is a company online showerseal.co.uk or something similar and they do replacement seals- if you can get deeper seals on the magnetic strips then you could always silicone behind the seal to straighten it up if required and keep it in the correct position!

Hello Jase,

I agree with everything you say!

It’s not pretty but with a bit of tickling the seals are now touching enough to hold the door closed and I can’t see any light through them anymore..I should have just bought a shower Curtain!

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
