Hi there! Wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me !?
Long story short, just moved into a property, and two days before moving in could smell has. Called in a gas expert turns out we had a gas leak on the gas hob! Apparently a flexi tube had been used! Can anyone tell me is this illegal? Just wondering where we stand as we had a gas safety check and certificate two week prior to this and it passed?! It's a gas hob and had a free standing gas cooker ( again not fitted correctly ( sat on two wooden slats )
We have now got rid of the gas cooker, bought some cooker housing and fitted an electric oven. Local gas man came today and whilst here also noticed the pressure gauge on our boiler is way past the 3! So thinking its faulty he advised to call ideal and see if they can sort under warranty! Turns out it was never registered with ideal so warranty is void and also not registered with gas safe!
Again my query is should these have not flagged up on the gas safety check?
I've questioned it with estate agents and the people who did the gas safety and they are basically saying nothing wrong with their check etc etc! But surely if flexi hose is illegal and they havnt flagged it up I have grounds to chase this!
Any help appreciated!
Thanks

yes it is and yes they should of but they get the lowest price gas check done so wouldn't hope for much
