    Hi
We've had a problem with a loss of water pressure on our shower. Spoke to our plumber and he said replace the thermostatic cartridge on the shower. So I ordered a replacement one for our Bristan shower and fitted it. The shower now runs on full pressure on cold but not on hot? Would anybody know why this might be the case and what could be the cause of this? The shower has run perfectly fine before, we have had no pipe leaks, no other problems with our water/heating system. Hot water comes via a thermal store cylinder as we have wet based underfloor heating running off that also. All connected up to a combi gas boiler.
Incidentally the problem started right after he serviced our boiler so not sure if that is just pure coincidence?
    Thanks

Just put the old cartridge back in and the cold water flow seems fine on that old one also now, but still very water low pressure on hot, it's just dribbling through? That seems to suggest that it might not be a problem with the cartridge?

Could be a kinked/collapsed hose, restricting the flow would stop the hot coming out as it’s thermostatic and fails safe. Try it without the hose attached to the shower. Do you get hot water everywhere else? If yes then it’s coincidental that your shower is now affected from the service.

No hose it is a fixed shower head (rose type) with all pipework behind tiles. All other hot water is fine.

Do you mean de-scale the shower head? If so, have done that already with Viakal. Not sure where the shower filters would be located?

    1. Filter will be inside shower or inside connections to pipes in wall.
    2. Find out which model Bristan you have and look up installation instructions on internet. Should show you where filters are, and may even give a clue as to how to remove and clean.
    3. May also have non-return valves built in, normally near filters. These can stick, particularly in hard water, and need to be de-scaled.
