Just at the moment I cant seem to do anything right on my break downs and I've had some right pigs recently.

One for the oil lads.

I've a trianco Eurostar with lock out the photocell was melted like hell and the oil pump was rattling like mad. Oil is good and clean. Since I put the new photocell and oil pump in it has carried on locking out intermittently but still fairly regular. But is running quieter.

It lights up runs sparks for a good 30 seconds then ignition goes off and Carrie's on running the ignition then comes on and off a couple of times even though the boiler is running fine.

So oil pressure constant 110psi co2 11.7 it has a new pump so I think highly unlikely the solenoid has gone on it. I haven't got an 830.3 box on the van but have an 832.3 so swapped it over. It doesn't spark as long but still intermittently sparks but doesnt lock out. I can remember years ago they put something in the oil that made it burn cleaner and that had problems I was told by the bloke at eogb to drill a hole in front of the photocell to help it see the light better. So I did that here and it worked for 2 weeks. But gone back down today.

Could it be a faulty new photocell ?

Would an 832.3 box keep trying to ignite I would of thought that it wouldnt as it's for a 2 stage burner I believe (cant remember where I got it from)

Otherwise I'm totally lost!

As this is in the Arms, I will suggest you try this to confirm the photocell working and therefore would be a poor flame or it not seeing flame fully, -

Pull photocell out of it’s pocket and hold your hand over it.
Then fire the burner and wait until you hear flame igniting and immediately hold flame to a light source or shine a torch on it.
If ignition goes off and remains off, photocell is working fine and you have problem with flame or it isn’t seeing it properly when in position.

Make sure the photocell is fully clean

Didnt see anybody had replied. I tried that 2/3 times and every time worked absolutely perfect.

Went back out armed with a control box a photocell and lead as those are the only 3 things that it could be. Customer said any ideas as it wont light at all now, I said I'm putting a new photocell on first as that is my initial fault I've just had it running perfectly and not dropped out once in 35/40 minutes.

So looks like I was given a duff photocell.

Sorry I just reread my post and see I typed “flame” when I meant “hold PHOTOCELL to a light source...”

Wish I could edit it, but Mods could do it.

Must remember to read my own typing a couple times before posting.

Just seen this, would have gone either new cell or lead.

Just goes to prove you can't rely on stuff straight out the box.

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
