I recently moved into a flat with a Gledhill Boilermate 2000 and a Glowworm Micron boiler.

I have no idea how to use this properly/efficiently and I don't want to end up paying through the roof on gas!

The manual is quite confusing but states that the boiler should be kept on max temp at all times, but this seems excessive?

At the moment I've got both the boilermate and the boiler turned on, with the boiler on about 50% temp, thermostat is right down as we don't need radiators on at the moment.

It's a rental flat so obviously I'm stuck with this setup for now..

Any help would be appreciated?

I don't have one myself, but I do have a thermal store, and I believe the Gledhill Boilermate 2000 is a thermal store.

With a thermal store it is best to run the boiler at max, even in the summer. If you turn it down it may not be able to get the tank (store) up to the temperature it is calling for, and it may run forever cycling (firing) on and off.
