That’s what I was also getting at mate. 2 great minds and all that.

Neat idea. But only if you can get to the nuts. No goood if it’s fully built in cistern, like geberitt etc.
Would work on a pan against built in furniture though.

Only really if the flushpipe has been cut too short which I see alot. Flush one installed with abit of silicone to hold it in the pan and they never leak/pull out.

Agreed, if you were going out to these leaking regularly then you'd use this product, but flush cones only need to be installed correctly to not leak.
Like the fluxuator, this is a solution to a non existent problem.

Hi JC I agree with you the patent office floor is littered with devices that are protected but nobody wants to buy . I think Chris will do well with this because of marketing and some multi large outfits might well specify it - thats the trick. My company host a number of devices and help their inventor - succeed or save plenty of £ssss not progressing a notion that as you say has no legs.

The element of most washing machines uses a very similar principle. Seen a similar principle used to seal copper wastes into an iron stack boss too. Probably it never will leak.

Same as an open-vented system. How about using either in conjuntion with Water Block Shut Off Valve - 13756 - Isolating, Flow Control & Service | BES.co.uk (from what I can gather, this device stops flow if more than a pre-set value (5-50l) is exceeded in one go, but the instructions are slightly vague).

Its taken 5 years and many £'s to set it up, using patent attorney and commercial lawyers to protect it EU wide and in the far east (selected areas). MFD is on sale now to non end user initially then B&Q and Amazon soon as its an out the box diy fit in 5 mins - It it is manufactured and backed by Flowflex largest manu of plumbing and heating fittings in Uk. Thats what my company do for myself and others who approach us with ideas. My patent is available for anybody to see world wide

MFD price per unit - its not available to non end user yet I have offered to set up a discounted price to ukpf members so members can make a profit and do the fitting - when ukpf let me know its ok then off we go on here. At present its on sale to housing trusts etc who are pre-ordering 10+ with 24 hour delivery took one order for 100 for September delivery today - they have 5000 rentals

The many similar autofill systems that have been used on Commercial sytems for years have a Time limit / no of attempts to fill setting to stop this.

auto fill as you state are for commercial set up and are EFD the MFD has a lock out and reset

I reckon the Jepp Cone looks brilliant but maybe best for new installs as tricky to install when pan is in situ as others have said. But then again he did mention an allen key fitting? So that would be easy enough I reckon.

I'd probably still apply a very thin ring of plumbers mate on the outside between two of the ridges to take up difference in any tiny flaws, nobbles because not sure whether it expands so uniformly that it can be super tight but not fully water tight as is case with so many things.

Final consideration is flush cones cost a few quid and if the right one for the pan (euro/uk etc) is chosen and fitted correctly (plumbers mate (if using anything) so stays flexible not silicone which can leak after time) it has a good chance of lasting leak free and so this best be comfortably under a tenner.
