Dishwasher problem

Hi . I have a dishwasher which leaves grit on items ( I've cleaned the arms and all filters, use rinse aid, salt, and new tablets).

When I cleaned the dish washer the salt filler was full of water and the space below the filters was full of water. The waste pipe goes into the main waste disposal without bend (from what I can see).

Does this water sound usual? Thanks
