    Hi Everyone,

Have a customer who needs a shower room for disabled daughter, i have done wet rooms etc but they would like the commercial type shower room you get in hospitals with the lino type flooring with welded joints which go up the wall.

Is this something i would need to get a specialist in for, if so can anyone recommend a company in kent??

    The floor area is 3.4m2

Don't think it's specialist. We use polyflor when we do disabled bathrooms/wetrooms and a couple local flooring companies round my area supply and install. Just ring around and I'm sure you'll find someone who does it fairly easily.

Before you put the floor down use sound deadening insulation
under the floor boards. If It its upstairs that is. The shower can produce a drumming sound and vibration which can be very annoying in the room below.

The floor isn't a specialist job but is out of the realms of the average domestic carpet / vinyl layer.
All Commercial flooring layers will have done it.

Alto and similar with welded joints is used in commercial food prep areas and kitchens.

Altro is the favoured product used in my area cant see it as specialist I did one recently and a local flooring company did the flooring after I had fitted the starter trim and tiled . Kop

Round me the they all use altro as well. Most floor layers will fit it as well.

Vinyl flooring is something that lots of floor layers will be able to do for you, Nicholls and Clarke would be happy to offer any advice that you may need in the selection of products for your clients wetroom.

The style you are referring to I think is called cap and cove. Usually goes up the wall by 150mm and usually requires specialist equipment to carry out the we led decliners joints.

I would hardly call the equipment specialist. It's nothing more than a fancy glue gun :D

True, but if the guy doesn't get the seam quite right you're in a world of pain with callbacks for damp...
