had a leaflet through the door from a training center stating that you could earn £90.00 an hour as a plumber thats £720 a day which comes to £187,200 per year verified by reports from the daily mail/express so it must be true, personally i wouldnt get out of bed for that sort of money

Pimlico Plumbers charge £90 an hour, but the actual plumber gets £45.

I'd only do four hours a day ;-)

Gas Installers Earn between £25,000 to £35,000 a year I believe.

If you cant earn more than 35k a year whats the point , might as well be a postman at least youd be home by lunchtime!

wages are around 25 to 30 k which for fiddling around with a boiler is good - beats being an office manager ect - go for it - thats wot i am doing - and forget the recession - when a boiler goes people always FIND the money or go without heating or hot water -

I know a guy who charges £90 /hr for boiler repairs but he doesnt hang around. He finds the problem quick and on average fixes it there and then(with no call out fee).
Like myself i charge what i believe i am worth! If you have either studied hard or have gained the experience that is why you can charge.
Anyone hanging around for their hourly rate when they could be fixing someone elses boiler(or down the pub!) are not we need in the business. Good old ethics go a long way in my book. Nice site guys

Hello All

I'm just about to start a apprenticeships with British Gas to become a Corgi gas man. Pretty happy with their training package and wages after qualifying. What I'd really like to know is what a realistic wage self employed is. People have been telling my 50-100k.

Bit much to ask strangers what they earn but it private, in a way.

Cheers

When I started my apprenticship I was on £27.40 a week in 1974,that was a lot of money as I was an apprentice industrial plumber, the normal trainee plumbers were on £16.00 to 18.00 a week
With your regard to siduation at British gas ,you are about to start a great apprenticeship ,if you are thinking big earning ,use you time wisely, learn as much as possible,do not fall into the trap of doing just enough to get through as many do,use the facilites well
Once you have finished, gain a little experiance, then you can brach out if you wish but remember Britsh gas are a big organisation,so leave on good terms and if you have done your training well they will always have you back, which is a good cusion to fall back on,you could even sub contract to them when you start on your own giving you a good spring board to your own works
However you may just think British gas ,job for life, van and tools, good holidays, good pension ect will stay put
Anyway the point is really yes you can earn a good living but first get your head down and learn as much as possible and be good at what you learn
good luck

Dear Friend.

Good Day.

It is indeed my pleasure to write you this letter, which I believe will be a surprise to you as we have never met before, and I am deeply sorry if I have in any manner disturbed your privacy. Please forgive this unusual manner of contacting you, but this particular letter is of exceptional and very private nature. There is absolutely going to be a great doubt and distrust in your heart in respect of this email, coupled with the fact that, so many individuals have taken possession of the Internet to facilitate their nefarious deeds, thereby making it extremely difficult for genuine and legitimate business class persons to get attention and recognition.

My name is Dr. Brand Vannoy, I am Account Manager of Citi Bank of Africa (Nigerian Branch). I contacted you on a business Transfer that requires confidentiality, Trust and transparency, where both of us have a lot to Benefit. During our auditing Accounts section, I discovered a huge sum of money US$20.5M, (Twenty Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars, deposited by our late customer, a foreigner who died On the 21st of April 2000, Engr. Since then I have made several enquiries to his embassy here in Lagos-Nigeria to locate any of Harold Bowen Extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful to locate any member of his family.

Now the management of the bank has issued a notice to provide the next of kin to claim the funds or they have the account frozen. Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 6 years now, I contacted you to seek your consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since you are a foreigner so that the proceeds of this
account valued at US$20.5M, can be transfer to your account that you would provided, then we can share the money 50%/ for me and 50% for you because I am not a greedy person and is a deal between me and you!

Finally, I have made an arrangement with an attorney who will work on your behalf and secure all the necessary legal documentation that would indicate you as the Beneficiary of the fund to back up this claim, and this I must do to make sure that this fund is not wasted or end up in the wrong hands. All I require is your honest co-operation to enable us sees this deal through and secures all the legal documents. I guarantee you that this transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you and I from any breach of the law.

If you are interested in this deal, kindly get back to me with your complete information, as follow. Your Private telephone and Fax numbers, and Cell phone; Your full Name
and Address.

Best regards,

Dr. Brand Vannoy.

Mind you they are slipping as usually ask for all bank details to !!:)

Hi Mat, did you have to wait long to get in with British Gas?, I've been on their web site and nothing available currently, I have left my details and they say they'll contact me if anything comes up. definetly looks like the best way in to gas mate, being paid to learn rather than forking out for a course with no guarantees of work.
