Connecting 25mm MDPE to 15mm copper

I am trying to fit an outside tap by running water from a shed which used to have a toilet, but the pipe coming into the shed is black 25mm MDPE, what is the best way of connecting it to 15mm copper?
Any help please?

Just go to your local merchants, tell them your pipe sizes and they'll give you a coupling and reducing set to match.

Are you sure its mdpe and not old alkathene. If in doubt take a piece with you.

if its black in colour then i am certain its alkathene, and i believe its a 3/4 compression joint you will need

defo black, if it is alkathene is it simply a brass fitting and olive? any kind of insert? or will an mdpe adaptor work?

when connecting to any kind of plastic you should use an insert, to stop the side walls of the tube from collapsing when under compresion. mdpe adapter might not work, check with your local plumbers merchants or if in doubt consult a qualified plumber!

If its alkathene, you will need either class c or d liners, likely to be this if been installed for approx 20yrs. Mdpe is available in black for above ground use with standard mdpe fittings.

i think alkathene is more likely as it comes into the bottom of the shed from underground. i also think it was installed a lot longer than 20 years ago, the house was built in the 60's. when you say liners is that inserts???

you may find 15 copper will fit as a liner
