hi all

I have a question regarding the set up in my new home.

I have a combi boiler but also have a tank in the loft feeding cold bath tap and cold basin tap. Think they are the only two.

My question is can I do away with the cold water storage tank and have water from Mains and only.

Also not sure if this is relevant but I share a water mains coming in with the neighbours house. It goes through theirs then into mine in 15mm. I haven’t seen what they have coming in. These are old houses so will need to check.

Thanks

TBH I would be looking at getting my own mains eg install a new 25mm alk

Water board

Get the pipe installed and get them to connect up or ask for a water meter where the external stop tap is can’t do it on shared supplies then :D

So, just to get this nailed down.
You have 2x mains cold feeds to. your gaff. 1. Which feeds your combi boiler to produce hot water and also which feeds your other cold water demands.
2. A rogue supply left over by lazy fitters which comes from your neighbours supply and feeds an intermediate high level cold water storage tank...in your property which supplies by gravity your cold bath and basin supply. ? !

Well what a mess. so upstairs you are washing yourselves and cleaning your teeth etc from a tank fed cold water supply fed from your
neighbour...Uck.

I would get everything ready , turn off the supply outside, cap off their incoming quick time.
and get all your cold water on the main supply.

I once visited a place ..where the residents were moaning about the water in their flats.
I took out 2x huge blown up
festering smally dead pidgeons the size of footballs out of their
cold water storage tank, then disinfected it, flushed it etc

If this was myself ,,,act now.

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
