Hi all,

I have a vintage (!) boiler and expansion tank system (glowworm fuelsaver mk 2). I've had no issues with it , although admittedly it is well overdue a service. A couple of my radiators weren't getting as warm as the others so I decided to bleed them. One kicked out a fair bit of air, the rest were pretty much all fine. Since bleeding them though I have no heat from my system, and it is making some angry noises! I've read you need to repressurise the system after bleeding sometimes, but I can't find a pressure gauge anywhere. Any ideas what I can do next? It's getting pretty chilly!

Do you have one of these anywhere ?

in your loft there will be a tank does that have water in it?

There's a small bucket sized tank, which was empty. My partner has just wiggled the ballcock (full of limescale) and now it's filling up.

you should be fine wait 10 mins and bleed the pump and any air vents you can see in the airing cupboard (pump needs to be bled working eg on) so do the others first

black hex undo it a turn and a bit until water starts to come out

Good idea! We tried bleeding the pump but never got to the point where water came out. Not sure if we tried too early so we've turned the pump off and we'll try again in half an hour. We already had 2 hot radiators, 2 cold! And 1 warm

On that Myson circulating pump you often need to slacken the black plastic nut and wiggle it a bit to bleed air quickly
