I got this question in an exam. The possible answers were, stop valve, full way gate valve, single check valve or wheel head valve. Any idea as I cant find the answer anywhere?

There is no cold feed to a macerator. Maybe they mean the single check valve on the outlet to prevent backflow of nasties into the unit?

Yeah, I cant remember the actual wording of the question or where the valve was placed but I thought it was the single check valve due to possibility of contamination. Thanks.

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?
