I am having a shower room retiled and will be keeping the shower cabinet but replacing the shower. Will there be any problems in moving from a concealed valve set up to an exposed valve? What happens to the space behind the shower currently used for the plumbing? Will it mean a slightly bigger shower room and the need to move the shower cabinet.

By shower room, I mean a small room with shower cabinet, toilet and basin, no a wet room.
