Hi everyone.!

I have a Betacom 2 24 Boiler ( 10 years old) and have been having issues with the pressure dropping.

So far, I have had 2 Engineers visit, resulting in fitting a new Pressure Release Valve and a new Expansion Vessel. Both to no avail so far.

The pressure tends to drop down to zero only when the Heating is on. The last Engineer thinks there may be a leak in the system (he has turned off the flow for the heating) and although the Bar does drop, it doesn't seem to go below 1.00.
However when the heating goes on the pressure drops .

My pipes for the system are under the screed on my concrete flooring and I fear a pipe leak will cause me so much hassle and cost in a) having to locate the leak and b) tearing up new flooring which was only put down around 8 months ago 😔 .

I've read that a sealant that goes jnto the system might help to fix a small leak...?? But have also read that these are not good to use.

I'm currently freezing and am desperate to find a fix for this. I'm quite prepared to buy a new boiler if necessary, but don't want to do that if it's a leaky pipe issue within the system.

Short of paying for a specialist company to Trace the leak, are there any other ways of finding where a leak could be? All rads and pipes have been checked and appear to be fine and there are no visible signs anywhere of water leakage.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Over to you guys....and thanks in advance 😉

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...

I have an ideal vogue max S18 boiler and I’m considering fitting auto balancing TRVs, my question relates to the boilers pump. I see a boiler pump menu for either 70% or 100%, so, is the pump set at either one of two fixed speed percentages or does the pump actually vary speed, (modulate)...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
