I've read the baxi duotec and the 600 boilers already have a Integral bypass but I've seen overheat problems with the 600 boiler when the lad has turned but one radiator off with 8mm pipework and I've also seen a pump fail after 2 years on a baxi duotec.. I assume a bypass should solve these issues ?

Pumps failing no that’s a grundfos issue bad batch that keeps popping up so more do to with the new ones

Depends on the size of the rad should be sized to suit min working output
